    Language

I’ve been using older more formal language, which is normally reserved for storytelling, on Midjourney today. I’m very pleased with the results. Now that I’ve reached a point where the prompts which I use are entirely my own, I will be posting them along with the images.

There will be an abundance of these type of images, as I find Oriental women have the most beautiful faces:

a delicate young lady, wearing a bejewelled Chinese headdress, detailed close-up, in sophisticated white clothing, intricate details, pastel colours, porcelain doll, complex makeup, pink and blue puffs of smoke, studio lighting and volumetric lighting Photo taken by Chin Leong Teo, taken with a Canon EOS R with a Canon RF 35mm F1.8 MACRO IS STM lens at 1/200 sec, f/2.8 and ISO200, Award-winning photography style, 4k –v 5.1

    Now for something completely different:

A man with a sword in his hand and a bow and arrow at his back and a gun in his belt, marching to the place where the creatures are, with a mind to get some fuller intelligence of them, the blood runs chill in their very veins at the spectacle confronting them

    More thoughtful;

I took up my Bible, and opening it to read, the first words presented to me were, “wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thy heart: wait I say on the Lord”. It is impossible to express the comfort this gave me.

    Some bright and happy images;

Whimsical, cheerful, delighted, ecstatic, amusing by virtue of her foolish behaviour, she stands hands on hips, laughing at the world.

    I really like these so you can have two;

    And some time of the end imagery;

When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour

    Here’s a wet Hummingbird;

There are other full size images on Instagram

That’s all there is, see you in the next one.

    Cheers,

    Old Man

    Four weeks

I am into my fifth week of image making now and the novelty of it has worn off to some degree. I am beginning to think properly about the type of image I want, rather than typing the first thing that comes into my head.

This morning I spent some time finding a photographer, a camera and a lens that I thought would give me an image I would like. I chose Chin Leong Teo, a multi-award-winning Singaporean photographer. I wrote this prompt; Beautiful woman, detailed close-up, in white, intricate details, pastel colours, porcelain doll, extraordinary makeup, pink and blue clouds of smoke, studio lighting and volumetric lighting Photo taken by Chin Leong Teo, taken with a Canon EOS R with a Canon RF 35mm F1.8 MACRO IS STM lens at 1/200 sec, f/2.8 and ISO200, Award-winning photography style, 4k –v 5.1  Which brought some lovely images:

No sooner had I downloaded them, than I saw this:

I have nothing against others using my, or anyone else’s prompts to learn how to write your own but that’s not what this is. I wouldn’t be naming myself “kreative” if I had to resort to this.

Chin Leong Teo is know for his wildlife photography and snakes in particular, I used this prompt; A King Cobra, curled and ready to strike, taken by Chin Leong Teo, taken with a Canon EOS R with a Canon RF 35mm F1.8 MACRO IS STM lens at 1/200 sec, f/2.8 and ISO200, Award-winning photography style, 4k –v 5.1

Then I altered the first prompt; Beautiful woman, detailed close-up, dressed in black, mania and depression, waves of emotion, intricate details, dark colours, porcelain doll, extraordinary makeup, grey and black clouds of smoke, studio lighting and volumetric lighting Photo taken by Chin Leong Teo, taken with a Canon EOS R with a Canon RF 35mm F1.8 MACRO IS STM lens at 1/200 sec, f/2.8 and ISO200, Award-winning photography style, 4k –v 5.1

The models are oriental because of the photographer. If I wanted to change this I would simply describe the model.

Although the description of the subject is important, it is not the only factor that needs to be considered, the wording itself is taken into consideration. This is a prompt using a formal and older way of speaking; An innumerable number of fowls of many sorts, confused, screaming and crying, on a very steep hill, surrounded by smaller hills, a man stands armed with a pistol and a horn of powder, ready to shoot, in the style of Leonardo Da Vinci

Because I used language from a different era, the art reflects this.

I used this prompt; The origin of the Devil, his rebellion against God, his enmity to man, setting himself up in the dark parts of the world to be worshiped, –v 5.1 and got this:

Because the language used is serious, the images reflect that too.

If I’d used modern language, I’d have got the red horned beast thing, the wording is important.

I’m going to start looking into chatgpt soon and that should make for some interesting reading. Until then, here’s some hot air balloons:

That’s all there is, see you in the next one.

    Cheers,

    Biblical

I was properly pleased with the image of Moses receiving the Commandments so I tried putting direct quotes from the Bible into Midjourney. The results are awesome:

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven

Then I tried And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged

That brought some dark images. Then; And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe

That’s enough End Times imagery, The next is: The view of a lake, under a full moon at late evening, mist is rising from the lake, swans glide by gracefully, with their reflections visible in the water, in the style of Vincent Van Gogh  –v 5.1

These are really pretty and the prompt is one that I partially used to make an image of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. That one came out okay but I thought it could be improved.

    That one’s my favourite.

This one came from a variation of it:

    And here’s a picture of a Hummingbird:

That’s all there is, see you in the next one.

    Styles

I have an interest in the Bible and have recently seen people making images of Biblical scenes on MidJourney and thought I would make one. I used this prompt; Moses the prophet receiving the commandments on Mount Sinai, cloudy background background with volumetric light, –v 5.1

This was one of the images from that prompt. Immediately afterwards I saw someone had used the same prompt but with Moses playing an electric guitar. It made me laugh and was quite a spectacular image.

I made an image of the Tree of Life; The tree of life being guarded by cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, create a complex yet beautiful scene high detail, ultra hd

And then I indulged myself for a while:

A painting of King Charles 1 in the style of The Starry Night by Van Gogh. I followed it with one of Charles III:

This is Beethoven in the style of Van Gogh, playing the Moonlight Sonata:

I wondered how Da Vinci would have painted Van Gogh:

And how Michelangelo would have painted Da Vinci:

I then made some animal images: Close up of a red admiral butterfly perched on a white rose, in an English garden next to a stream, taken with a Nikon D850 and a 70mm lens

As I’ve posted a couple of images of England’s Leaders, I feel I ought to do the same for the Americans, so here’s one of their President:

And that’s all there is, see you in the next one.

    England

I thought I’d make some images that relate to England today. I live in England and have spend most of my life here, though I am of Irish descent. I think it’s a shame that the English are spoken of so badly because of the Empire, it’s not as though the average person had any say in that, or any other issue for that matter.

The English have given the world a great deal and here’s a little celebration:

John Lennon of course, member of the Beatles.

    Queen Elizabeth 1

One of the most famous bridges in the world; Tower Bridge. There is a story that Robert P McCulloch thought he was buying this, rather than London Bridge, though this has always been denied.

The most famous Playwright of all time is William Shakespeare, who still has plays performed to this day.

The Battle of Waterloo affected not just England but the whole of Europe, where Field Marshall the Duke of Wellington put an end to Napoleon Bonaparte’s Reign as Emperor of the French.

And of course the 1588 defeat of the Spanish Armada which saved both England and the Netherlands from the Spanish Empire.

The tiny country of England has had more influence on the modern world than any other. In almost every country you can find someone who speaks English. The whole world runs on time set in Greenwich, England and the whole world communicates on a system called the World Wide Web, invented by the Englishman Tim Berners-Lee.

I think sometimes we should just say thank you. Thank you England.

Here’s a couple of Ninja’s drinking Afternoon Tea:

    Midjourney People

I resolved the audio issue and will be posting video’s soon. I was going to do it today but there is a good deal of drilling going on outside my front door, so it’ll be the weekend or next week.

I’m experimenting with people and styles this morning and I have some really nice images. I tried Winston Churchill in the style of Michelangelo, then in an Anime style by Yuumei:

I then asked for beautiful Korean women, the prompt included futuristic outfits. These are some of my favourite images so far:

I liked these so much that I asked for an Anime image of Jennie Kim. I don’t think the AI knows who she is but the images are awesome:

Black Pink is the revolution but different Jennie.

The next one was refused initially because the prompt included the word “scars”. You can appeal things like this but I just removed it as it wasn’t important:

These next were just for fun and are really pretty to look at:

    I’ll leave you with this:

That’s all there is, see you in the next one.

    Cheers,

    Midjourney Mona Lisa

I was going to record my time on Midjourney today, so people can see the creation process. I’m having audio issues though; loud interference when I click on anything. I have too many devices connected, I’ll resolve it though and post one soon.

I continued with different styles today. I wanted to see how Michelangelo would have painted the Mona Lisa. It turns out, he’d have done it almost the same:

The third one is my favourite:

I then asked for it done in the style of Neil Blevins, whose art I quite like:

I then wondered what it would look like if Beatrix Potter had painted it:

    I like these a lot

Beethoven is my favourite composer and I wanted an image of him as though painted by Michelangelo:

Angela is thinking of reinventing her website later this year so I did some fun images for her:

I think they suit her. Here’s a watercolour of a pretty Korean girl:

And that’s all there is, see you in the next one.

    Elvis Presley Midjourney AI

Being as old as I am, yet still handsome, I remember the day Elvis Presley died. I don’t remember it because I particularly liked his music but because of the fuss the girls made about it. One particular girl, a friend of Angela named Lorraine, made such fuss that I thought she was related to him. I was only young then and didn’t yet realise that girls were “different”.

I thought that I’d show the different styles of Midjourney, using a person that most will be familiar with and Elvis is quite well known.

I started by asking for a charcoal sketch: Elvis Presley, charcoal sketch, thick lines, basic shapes, abstract, old paper –v5.1

Then just a white image: a white portrait of Elvis Presly absolutely amazed, happy, eyes wide open, hungry. 3D. Monochromatic white. Ultra detailed. Ultra realistic. White background.

I like them, they’re pretty accurate and look like photos. Then an oil painting by Michelangelo:

I shouldn’t be surprised at how good they are, considering the artist but I am. Then I tried some anime: An anime image of Elvis Presley in the style of Yuumei

Although there’s only a passing resemblance, I do like the style. I tried another couple of artists, who I’ve never heard of but whose art I saw in a document. Again, the resemblance isn’t great but the style is nice:

Then I just blended a couple of Elvis with some others for fun:

For no reason at all, here’s a Gnome:

That’s all there is, see you in the next one.

    Cheers,

    Old Man

    Donald Trump from Midjourney

I am three weeks into this AI Whispering thing now and my progress is slow but sure. I know how it all works and I’ve produced some great images with both prompts and image blending.

Rather than reposting my favourite images, I thought I would use my favourite prompts to recreate the images, using the most divisive character I could think of. I think most people would agree that this would be Donald Trump, so here he is in different situations as different characters:

Using my prompt for Cerberus the hell hound, here’s Donald walking his puppies:

From my Angels in the clouds prompt, here’s Donald as an Angel:

From the evil Jester prompt, evil Donald:

Using my fairy and dwarves prompt, here’s Donald playing with Fairies:

These last two are from a prompt I haven’t used before but they came out pretty well:

Whether you love him or hate him, he is entertaining. That’s all for now, see you in the next one.

    Cheers,

    Midjourney is back up

I’m using the General Image creation rooms now and they’re much busier than the newbie rooms. Whereas before, I could just navigate to my images in the message list, I now have to go directly through my own inbox.

Something that surprises me is that others can and do make variations of my images. It’s not something that I would do myself, I would rather study the prompt that made it and vary that, than use an image made by another user. I’m not particularly bothered by it since none of us plays a big part in the image creation process but the laziness of it is annoying.

Anyway, it’s another winged beings post but the style is different. A change is as good as a rest, so they say, so these images should be refreshing:

This was a blend of a realistic looking fairy, which I’ll post below, and a background image. The style and clarity of the background image come from the end of the prompt: hyper realistic, super detailed, volumetric lighting, god rays, bokeh –v 5.1

I liked the style that it gave and blended some more:

Both of those two came from this image:

The wings came out really well, the prompt for this was: a full body shot of a beautiful, pale-skinned human male with wings, in the clouds, wearing a white robe, carrying a sword, he has fair and flawless skin, he has bright and piercing blue eyes, his hair is long and golden, cascading over his shoulders like a waterfall, standing with grace and dignity, gothicpunk, cyberpunk, god rays, cinematic lighting, hyper-realistic, highly detailed, shot with Hasselblad with Ektachrome, diffuse light , super delicate, 16k, –v 5.1

Sometimes, even with the full body shot specified, you won’t get a full body in the image. If that happens, you can try describing the legs and footwear in detail, that ought to work.

Here’s a few more of the blended images from this mornings time on the server:

One day very soon I’ll make images of something other than fairies and angels but that’s what I’ve got for today. See you in the next one.

    Cheers,

    Old Man
